Sustainable Production

At Taller Stories, we believe great storytelling shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense. As filmmakers and producers, we have a responsibility to be conscious of our impact — not just on audiences, but on the environment too.

Sustainable taller stories

That’s why sustainability is built into the way we work.

From pre-production through post, we aim to minimise waste, reduce emissions, and make thoughtful choices that align with a lower-carbon way of working (Meat-Free Mondays anyone?). We’re proud to have achieved Albert certification on several of our productions — a recognised industry standard for sustainable production practices backed by BAFTA and Coimisiún na Meán.

We also stay mindful of the brands and agencies we collaborate with, many of whom share a commitment to sustainability and responsible storytelling. Whether it's reducing travel through remote collaboration, prioritising local crew and suppliers, or simply avoiding single-use materials on set — we’re always looking for ways to do better.

We're happy to share our Green Agenda with anyone who wishes to look through it. Just drop us a mail.

Let’s keep making great work, with a lighter footprint.

  • We encourage carpooling as much as possible for all crew and cast, and if feasible provide a production bus/ taxis to transport crew / cast instead of individual cars.
  • Crew or Cast who may be able to walk, cycle or use public transport are encouraged to do so
  • We strive to film in locations close to our production base to minimise travel journey.
  • We'll always offer veggie options for lunch!
  • Primarily we work with repeat crew and freelancers who aim to follow our green initiatives. We ask all departments to request, where applicable, the environmental policies of their suppliers.
  • We rarely use generators on set and opt for electrical LED lighting.
  • We ask individuals to be responsible for turning off appliances, heaters, lights and power sockets when appropriate.
  • We rent as much as possible from props, equipment and wardrobe.
  • We recycle and store items at our production office for future use and have donated excess props and clothing to charity shops while leftover food to food banks like FoodCloud on larger shoots.
  • We use rechargeable batteries for all our in-house production equipment.
  • When using studios we ensure all crew follow recycling protocol, and that any waste is reduced and recycled responsibly.
  • The team and temporary staff at Taller Stories now refrain from printing on paper on all shoots unless requested to, opting for digital communication and documentation.
  • Taller Stories maintains a strong commitment to effective waste management both in the office and on set.
